Touring around Christiansborg

 Tøjhusgården

Rigsdagsgården

Spend a great day in the sun drawing the surounding arear of Christiansborg with my good friend René.
The windows at Rigsdgsgården are just humongous, I found myself just staring at them in disbelieve and forgetting to draw.
Anyway I did get two drawings done on this beautiful sunny sunday.

Must be The First Day of Spring

Smedestræde, Valby

 Storm Petersens Vej, Frederiksberg

Today must be the first day of spring. The sun was up and strong, and the even the wind was surprisingly warm - Today spring has arrived.
I decided to celebrate it with a small sketchCrawl with my daughter, who luckely enough decided to sleep through it.
The top sketch is what seems to be an abandoned garage in Valby, but something is lurking around in there somewhere. I love run down industrial buildings, despite the obvious absence of life, I find them full of it, and very inspiring.
The other sketch was done in a quiet back street of Frederiksberg, just behind the council building - a very nice area.

Julius Valentiners Allé

On tour with my daughter.
The weather is great but still pretty cold, Karen didn't seem to mind so I took the chance to do this quick sketch

34th International SketchCrawl

Because of the weather we went to the Post & Tele Museum.
I haven't got a clue what the mashine does, but it looks cool. The stairs leads up to the musseum café, which have probably the greatest view of any restaurante in Copenhagen - and the most expensive cola.

Den gule villa

First sketch of the year. At some point I hope I will learn that, even when the sun is up, it is probably damn cold in January in Denmark. But it was great to be out again, and next time I will wear three layers of clothing.
Den gule villa (the Yellow Villa) is for some kind of cultural activity - or maybe something els, I not sure what's going on in there, but it's a nice yellow house.

Svendborg

A couple of our closest friends, who used to live about a 150 meters away from us, moved to Svendborg to Svendborg in july, a town about 357.000 km away form us.
Svendborg is a great town, with a harbour, lots of old, but well preserved, buildings, definitely a place to sketch when it gets a bit warmer.

Any way a fantastic weekend in Svendborg, with great friends, nice beer, good food, time to do a sketch, what more can you ask for.

Winter

Winter is slowly approaching Copenhagen, so I will not be doing too much urban sketching for the next couple of months. Instead I have found an evening class in life drawing, which I will be attending. It's pretty different to urban sketching, especially because the model is changing pose every bloody 2 minuts. Pretty stressful but a lot of fun too.
Here's a sketch from last weeks life drawing class.

Frederiksvej

Not far from my flat you'll find Frederiksvej. It's just another quiet back street of Copenhagen, but this street got some of the most beautiful Jugendstil inspired doorways you'll find in Copenhagen. So what els to do, than draw it. So here you have it; a little piece of beautiful Frederiksvej, go visit the street if you're in the area
